The Progressive® International Motorcycle Shows® (IMS) Announces the Denver J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show 2019/2020 Tour Winners

Santa Monica, Calif. (January 21, 2020) – The Progressive® International Motorcycle Shows® (IMS), an industry leader on connecting powersports brands with highly qualified enthusiasts and buyers, today announced the fifth round of winners of the 2019/2020 Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show (UBCBS) sponsored by J&P Cycles, which took place at IMS Denver over the past weekend. The winners will move on to compete in the championship round in Chicago, Illinois.

Celebrating its tenth consecutive year shining a spotlight on the most beautiful, one-of-a-kind custom motorcycles across the nation, UBCBS is the largest and one of the most sought-after touring custom bike competitions in the nation. The elite-level custom motorcycle builder competition features more than 300 motorcycles across the eight-city IMS tour, awarding more than $70,000 in cash and prizes. This year's categories include Custom Classic, Custom Street, Freestyle, and People's Choice.

Judged by a panel of industry experts, winners in each city along the IMS tour will be invited to compete in the championship round taking place February 9, 2020 in Chicago for a chance to be crowned "King of the Builders." To learn more, please visit: motorcycleshows.com/UBCBS.

The winners of the UBCBS at IMS Denver 2020 are as follows:

Custom Classic
Winner: Richard Ryan with Irish Rich Custom Cycles won first place with a 1979 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead valued at $35,000. The motorcycle was painted by Kirk Taylor Custom Design Studios and featured one of two WCC shop-built CFL frames ever made in this configuration, with an 86-inch motor, a nickel plated frame, Dick Allen Centerline rear wheel, a scratch built two into one exhaust, no visible wiring, a custom oil tank in front of the rear fender, and more.
Runner-up: Nicholas Chastagner was selected as runner-up with a 1985 Harley-Davidson FXRT.

Custom Street
Winner: Garett Wilson won first place with a 2000 KTM Duke II valued at $10,000. The motorcycle was painted by Dan White and featured a retrofitted Honda CB400 steel tank, a custom subframe and Goon Glass tail section, 19-inch Sun rims laced with Buchannan spokes, KTM hubs, an LED headlamp and taillamp, a 41mm Flatside custom exhaust with an FMF silencer, and more.
Runner-up: Kyle Shorey was selected as the runner-up.

Winner: Ryan Gore with Paper Street Customs won first place with a 1978 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead valued at $30,000. The motorcycle was painted by Scott Takes Underground Art Studios and features a one-off handmade tank, fender, oil bag, exhaust, foot controls, grips, as well as a stained glass battery box and intake, a suede seat by Curt Green at Bare Bones Leather, a hardtailed frame, and a complete motor and transmission rebuild.
Runner-up: Patrick Kitowski with Dino's Custom Cycles II Inc. was selected as runner-up with a 2019 Dino's Softail valued at $80,000. The motorcycle features a custom Softail with Shovelhead motor, a 26-inch front wheel, air suspension in the front and back, and custom engravings

People's Choice
As voted by IMS attendees, Amanda Steele with Big Top Moteaux took home the People's Choice award with a 1975 Kawasaki KS 125.
