Fontana, CA (Py) - It's quite an exhilarating yet bewildering experience to step into the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA. The temperature is a gentle 75F on the dashboard with the sun brightly above the sunroof. After we drove in to the parking lot, checked in to the media, we already got a very impressive dosage of the vastness and organization of this event. This is the biggest production that we've seen in the Auto Club Speedway, ever!
There are so many people just handing the security, and safety, and beyond them, there are so many staff people that run a very tight ship. We said to ourselves, this is not just an event, this is a culture, which does show the essences of this country's fundamental beliefs. If you do one thing, do that one thing right. If you work on something, work at the professional level. If you run a show, you run it like you want to show it.
Day 1 of the NASCAR Royal Purple 300 is a practice run day. There is no pressure, just tuning of the car and test the ground. We are focusing on the car here, so all our pictures are with the cars either static, moving, or being tuned.
If you have not been to a NASCAR event, do remember to bring a pair of earplug or ear muff. The throttling sounds from the cars are like thunders and if you have more than one in close vicinity, then it becomes rolling thunders. On some occasions, they would let go the paddle, and then it becomes a whistling rocket freefall noises, which are quite spine-tingling.
Tomorrow will be the first run of the competition and we shall see some cool actions there. Be sure to stay tuned for more info!
We got some great pictures on these amazing cars. They are broken into two parts and here is the first part.
