Paul Walker Memorial Meet at Valencia with Strong Showing of Love and Loss, by Clinton Lum @calibre68

Valencia, CA, Photos and Text by Clinton Lum - It was one week since I journeyed to this location, but for entirely different reasons. A week ago it was a relaxing Sunday afternoon. I was there at AE Performance to drop off a toy for their Winter toy drive. But this weekend I was there to pay respect to Paul Walker and Roger Rodas who had passed away not too far from AE Performance's shop.

The memorial brought in car crews from Southern California as well as distant states. Every type of car as well as motorcycle was represented that day. It didn't matter if you drove an import or domestic, everyone was family there. Several of the cars from the Fast and the Furious movies were displayed at a nearby church parking lot. And a banner was stretched on the side of a freight truck which fans wrote condolence messages.

Two trees marked the accident site. One was broken, its top snapped off and its trunk split. The other was charred from the fire that engulfed the Porsche Carrera GT which was involved in the accident. Candles, flowers, car parts, and many cans of NOS were placed at the crash site.

What will happen in the future? I have heard people wanting to make this meet an annual event. And other people want the street renamed to include Paul Walker and Roger Rodas' names.
